Boyd P. Sliger (Paul) passed away February 6 at his home in Caryville after a battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome.  He was 83.  Paul was born in Athens, TN., and attended McMinn County High School.

After serving in the Air Force during the Korean War, Paul attended the University of Tennessee and obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering.  He worked for Robertshaw Controls (Fulton Co.) for 31 years.  After retirement, Paul started Representative Firm, Sliger Products, and later worked as a consultant for Kentucky Technology.  As Paul told people, he “just could not get the hang of retirement” and opened Antiques@LakeCityTN 20 years ago, where he so enjoyed meeting and visiting with friends and customers. 

Paul is survived by his wife of 25 years, Peggy Lay Sliger, son Tony Sliger (Debbie); daughter Leigh Sliger.  He is also survived by his wife’s children, James Goddard (Angela) and Benjamin Goddard (Susan).  He was a loving grandfather to: Jason Clark, Hannah Felix, Eric Sliger, Lolo Goddard, Norah Goddard, and Emily Goddard.

Paul was predeceased by his father, George Paul Sliger, and mother Fay Clark Sliger.

A celebration of Life Service will be held 3 PM Sunday, February 12, 2017 at First Baptist Church Jacksboro; 409 Main Street, Jacksboro, TN.  In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made in Paul’s memory to First Baptist Church Jacksboro, Building Fund, PO Box 220, Jacksboro, TN. 37757.
