I met Rex when we worked together at Gerdau Ameristeel in Knoxville, Tn. Rex was one of the hardest working guys on our crew, and also the eldest of the crew at the time he worked there. Rex and I became friends and I stayed in touch with him even after he retired sometime in the early 2000's. Rex had a spirit and energy that was God given and that you don't see very often. He told me stories about his life and work history over his years, that you can't even wrap your mind around. I was fortunate to know Rex and truly understand and learn from him on how to value your job and enjoy doing what you do. Rex could make you laugh on your worst day, and we shared many laughs together. To Mrs. Frankie and family, I'm sorry for your loss. He talked about his family everyday, and he loved his grandchildren dearly! I can hear him know talking about Gates and Cable as I'm writing this message. To my little fat buddy as we often called one another, Rest in Paradise,!! My condolences once again to Mrs. Frankie and family. Anthony Monthomery
