James Franklin Hatmaker, age 79 went home to be with the Lord Thursday, January 25, 2018. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Stinking Creek Baptist church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather that enjoyed spending time with his family. James was a dedicated Vol’s fan and enjoyed playing golf.
He is preceded in death by parents Vestle Leon and Mary (Ridenour) Hatmaker; first wife Thelma Hatmaker, sister Marie Hatmaker.
He is survived by wife Mary Katheryn Hatmaker of Pioneer; sons William
Brett & wife Allison of York, SC, Frank Hatmaker & wife Stephanie of McDonough, GA, Darryl Murray & wife Karen of Lick Creek, Mike Murray of Pioneer, David Murray & wife Kathy of Caryville; brother Johnny Hatmaker & wife Anna of Summertown, TN, sisters Carolyn Bruce of LaFollette, Glenda Ayers & husband Phillip of LaFollette; grandchildren Cherishton, Cortney, Kaitlyn, Coleman, Lucy, and Samantha; great grandchildren Rowan, Larry Jr., and James.
Visitation will be 5-7 PM Saturday, January 27, 2018 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2 PM Sunday, January 28, 2018 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Delmus Bruce and Rev. Donald Shown officiating. The interment will be Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Ellenwood, Georgia.
