Odessia Carroll Brown, age 92 of LaFollette passed away suddenly Sunday, June 18, 2017 at LaFollette Medical Center.  She was a lifelong member of West LaFollette Baptist Church.  Odessia enjoyed growing her flowers, quilting for her family, and watching the humming birds outside her window.   She was a loving mother and proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She always enjoyed time spent with any and all of her family. 

 

She is preceded in death by parents Howard and Nola McKlin Carroll, sisters Lonie Fritts, Louise Caldwell, and Earnie Pace; brothers Clyde, John, and Andrew Carroll.

 

She is survived by daughter Joyce Lowe and husband Lowell; sons Lewis Brown and wife Peggy Jo, Arnold Brown, all of LaFollette, Tim Brown and wife Teresa of Oak Ridge; sister Tressie Sheffield of Caryville; granddaughter Tonia Byrd, Christy Kohlmeyer and husband Reverend Charles Kohlmeyer; great grandchildren Jared Byrd, Cassie and Dalton Kohlmeyer.  Special friend of 60 years Anna Bradshaw, also special friends Debbie Bell and Tammy Coleman; extended family Mike Lamb and Gail Lamb Smiddy; several nieces and nephews.

 

Pallbearers Jared Byrd, Dalton Kohlmeyer, Jerry Crutchfield, Jimmy Smiddy, Wallace “Babe" Moore, Dayne Deavours, Honorary Pallbearer Cassie Kohlmeyer.

 

The family will receive friends Sunday, June 25th from 2 PM - 3 PM  in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home; funeral service at 3 PM with Reverend Charles Kohlmeyer and Reverend Sampson Ridenour officiating.  Interment  will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the West LaFollette Baptist Church House Fund.
