Jean Ovetta (Day) Chapman

Jean Ovetta Chapman, age 74 of LaFollette departed this life Wednesday, July 24, 2019.  She was a member of First Independent Missionary Baptist Church.  She lived life to the fullest, loved her flowers, plants, and her animals.  Jean also loved her family very much and being around her friends.

She is preceded in death by parents Wylie and Myrtle (Bruce) Day, sons Neal Chapman and Dale “Booby” Chapman, grandson, sister Carolyn Walden.

She is survived by husband of 50 years, Charles Chapman of LaFollette, sons Curtis Todd Hembree of LaFollette, Jeff Hembree & wife Kathy of LaFollette, brother Eddie Day of LaFollette, sister Geraldine Polson of LaFollette.  Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, a host of other relatives & friends.

Visitation will be 10 AM – 12 PM Saturday, July 27, 2019 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home followed by funeral service at 12 PM with Rev. Don Whited and Rev. Don Allen officiating.  Following service, friends and family will go in procession to Powell Valley Cemetery for interment.
