Jimmy Shetterly Obituary

Jimmy Junior Shetterly, age 70 of Jacksboro passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019.  He was a member of Lake City Church of Christ.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, metal detecting and gold prospecting, working in the yard, and gardening. Jimmy had a love of music and he played bass guitar for the Silver Clouds.  He was a lifetime member of the LaFollette Rescue Squad and a founding member of CORA (Campbell County Recreation Association).   After 37 years, he retired from the Tennessee Department of Transportation, where he worked as a large equipment mechanic.   Jimmy was a United States Army Veteran who served his country in the Vietnam War.

He is preceded in death by son Jimmy Junior Shetterly, Jr., parents Philip and Anelee (Bell) Shetterly, brother A.J. Asbury, sisters Ruthie Mae Bullman and Glenna Sue Shetterly, father-in-law James Issac Stooksbury and mother-in-law Cis Stooksbury.

He is survived by wife of almost 50 years, Vicky Shetterly of Jacksboro, son Jason Shetterly & wife Kasi of Jacksboro, daughters Lori Smith & husband David of Jacksboro, Kody Lynn Shetterly of Jacksboro.  Brothers Steve Shetterly of Jacksboro, Roger Shetterly & wife JoAnn of LaFollette, Bill Shetterly of Caryville, Ralph Shetterly & wife Georgie of Caryville.  Special cousin JoAnn Parks and special niece Alesha Williams, 9 grandchildren, special friends Bob Smith, C.L. Adkins, and Joe Thompkins.  Several nieces, nephews, and relatives. 

Visitation for Jimmy will be 5-7 PM Saturday, June 29, 2019 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home.  Friends and family will meet 2:30 PM at Martin Wilson Funeral Home Sunday, June 30, 2019 to go in procession to Jacksboro cemetery for the 3 PM interment.  Military Honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard.
