Maureen Sue (Kitts) Evans, age 79 of Caryville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the LaFollette Medical Center. She was born August 9th, 1940 in LaFollette, Tennessee to the late Albert and Elizabeth (Ayers) Kitts. Sue loved going to church, especially Covenant Life Church, where she was a member. She enjoyed spending time with her family, having get togethers, University of Tennessee sports, and Campbell County football and basketball. Sue loved politics and talking. She also was former member of the Caryville City Council, where she served as a councilwoman. Sue was licensed pre-need agent and sold insurance at Martin Wilson Funeral Home for many years.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Glen Evans and her brother, Dennis Kitts.
Sue is survived by her sons, Rick Evans of LaFollette and Mark Evans and wife, Tammy of Corbin, Kentucky; grandsons, Todd Evans and wife, Tiffany of Jacksboro and Ryan Evans and wife, Haley of Jacksboro; brothers, Donald Kitts Sr. of LaFollette, Clayton Kitts and wife, Edna of Franklin, Tennessee, and Warren Kitts and wife, Wilma of Caryville. Sue is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation for Sue will be Tuesday, November 19th, 2019 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. with her funeral service to follow at 8:00 P.M. with Rev. Tony Slay and Rev. Hobert McCreary officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:15 AM on Wednesday, November 20th, 2019 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home to go in funeral procession to Evans Cemetery in Caryville for a 12:00 noon interment.
