Robert Oscar “Johnny” Johnson, age 82 of LaFollette passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017.  He was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church.  Johnny loved working, especially on his cars, and carpentry.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran.  He was part of the military police for 4 years and a Mechanical Engineer while enlisted.  Johnny also loved cats and dogs, especially German Shepard’s. 

He is preceded in death by parents Stein & Merle (Krause) Johnson; daughter Theressa Evon Johnson; grandson Michael Wayne Shoemaker; sister Shirley Cline.

He is survived by wife of 57 years, Shirley Johnson of LaFollette; sons Donald Johnson & wife Lorie of Hickory, North Carolina, Darrell Johnson of LaFollette, Darren Johnson & wife Shannon of Knoxville, Scott Johnson & wife Tammy of Lafollette, and Robert Johnson of Cartersville, Georgia;  Daughter Donna George & husband Sonny of Port Wentworth, Georgia, and Meloney Stover & husband Rick of Charleston, South Carolina; brothers Cecil “Bud” Johnson of Spokane, Washington, and Larry “Tony” Johnson of Reno, Ohio; 16 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives & friends.

Visitation will be 5-7 PM Friday, December 22, 2017 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home followed by funeral service with Bro. Rick Stover officiating.  Friends and family will meet 10:15 AM Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home for the graveside service with Military Honors at 11 AM in Bakers Forge Cemetery.
