Agnes Maxine Rains

Agnes Maxine Lay Rains passed away Thursday, January 28, 2010. She was born to Jennings and Cora Lay on January 23, 1926. She was married to David Austin Rains for many years. Austin passed away in 1980. Maxine lived alone at her home in Caryville since his death. Austin was a person that everyone loved. He was a good person. Maxine was one of six children. She only had one living sister, Frankie Ann Lay Weaver and Brother in Law, Odis of Powell, TN. She had several nieces and nephews who she loved them all. She had many friends. She went to Caryville Baptist Church and was a member of Eastern Star for years. Maxine became sick and could no longer live by herself or take care of her self. Her Dr. checked her into Summit View Nursing Home of Lake City. She has lived there since December 24, 2009. Her sister Frankie went to visit her every week while she was there. Maxine we loved you, you will be missed and you will have a new home now in heaven. We will meet you again on the other side of the clouds. We will always remember you. Good bye and much love.

Preceded in death by Husband: David Austin Rains. Parents: Jennings and Cora Thompson Lay. Brothers and Sisters in Law: Olin and Ethel Lay. Dean and Ocie Lay and Murlen and June Lay. Sister and Brother in Law: Loma Jean and Lonas Phillips.

Survived by Sister: Frankie Weaver.

Funeral Service will be 2 PM Sunday, January 31, 2010 in Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Matthew Tilley officiating. Interment will 2 PM Monday in Adkins Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 PM Sunday before funeral service.
