Arlis Jackson, age, 73, of Caryville went home to be with the Lord at 5:15 am on Tuesday September 24, 2013 while resting at his home. Arlis was a member of Stanfield Church of God and a well known fiddle player. He played with many local and famous people through the years, a lot of whom had played on the Grand ole Opry, He loved music and anything that had to do with the outdoors, but most of all he loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Preceded in death by, granddaughter, April Jones, mother and father, Maudie and Lester Jackson.
Survived by wife, Shirley Jackson of Caryville, daughters, Ronda Gagne and Janie and husband Mike Smith, stepdaughter, Arlene Hickman all of Jacksboro, sons, Anthony Jones of Jacksboro and Brian Parker of Houston, Tx, grandchildren, Bethany and Ashley Baird and Daniel Miehlke all of Jacksboro, step grandchild, Marnie Evans of Speedwell, step great great grandchildren, Chyna and Buddy Goins, best friends, Ray Blackwell and Stanley Heatherly, a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 6-9 pm Saturday September 28, 2013. Funeral service will be 2 pm Sunday September 29, 2013 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Statin and Rev. Herb Smith officiating. Interment will follow
Martin Wilson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
