Ben Ephraim Lawson, age 77 of Lafollette passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. Mr. Lawson was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Ben was ordained in 1962 as a deacon and he was a choir leader for 20 years. He was a member of the Iron Workers Local #384. He loved farming, cattle, singing and his family was his life.

Preceded in death by Parents: Perry and Mattie Miller Lawson. Brothers: James, Mike and John Lawson. Sisters: Thresa Lawson and Chloebelle Lovette.

Survived by Wife: Hazel Parks Lawson. Son and Daughter in Law: Danny and Debra Lawson. Daughters and Sons in Law: Kathy and David Shown and Sandy and Johnny Thompson all of Lafollette. Grandchildren: Brad and Trent Shown, Travis and Meagan Thompson, Aaron, Tommy, Cody, Anthony and Marissa Lawson. Great Grandchildren: Peyton and Lawson Shown and Colie Thompson. Brother: Jack Lawson of Caryville. Sisters: Ruth Vann of Caryville and Mildred Kimball of Jacksboro. Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be 8 PM Thursday, October 2, 2008 in Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Danny Lawson, Brad and Trent Shown, Aaron Lawson, Travis and Meagan Thompson officiating. Interment will be 10 AM Friday in Campbell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday night before funeral service.
