Beulah Marie Hale, age 96, of Knoxville passed away on February 25, 2015. Beulah was lovingly known as Miss Beulah. She was a charter member of West LaFollette Baptist Church and loved the Lord and her family very much. During her wonderful life she saw the world and experienced history. The joys of her life were her children whose lives she was actively involved in. Her other loves were her pets, especially her poodles and Sandy's pugs. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and gardening with the Garden Club of LaFollette. She also taught crocheting at Shannondale Retirement Home. Miss Beulah also loved to play the piano, flower arrangements, golf and attending tea dances.
Miss Beulah spent the last six years of her life living at Shannondale Retirement Home in Knoxville and was very happy there. The family would like to thank the staff and doctors there for their kindness, love and care of Mom during her last years, especially Mama Tasha and Margie Riffey and the nurses & staff on the 5th floor. We would also like the thank the doctors and nurses at UT Hospital Emergency Room, Trauma and the 6th floor East for making mom's last days peaceful.
She was preceded in death by her parents William & Maggie (Hudson) Letner, husband of 38 years Gene Hale, daughters Linda Marlow of Oneida and Connie Jean Hale, granddaughter Lindsay Marie Marlow and brothers Roger Letner & wife Thelma, Walter Letner & wife Edna, Edgar Letner & wife Jean, James, Bill G and Clarence J. Letner.
She is survived by son William Michael Hale of Knoxville, daughter Sandy Smith & husband Rick of Knoxville, grandsonRobbie H. Marlow & wife Amanda, great-granddaughter Hailey Renee Marlow, sisters-in-law Polly Letner of Jacksboro and Geneva Letner of Brandenburg, KY, special grandchildren Pugsley, Snickers and Blossom Smith as well as many more nieces and nephews who she dearly loved.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 6:00 pm on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow with Rev. Sampson Ridenour officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 am on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Woodlawn Cemetery.
