Billy Rich Tackett

Rev. Billy Rich Tackett, age 65, of LaFollette went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 24th, 2013 at LaFollette Medical Center. He was the Assistant Pastor at Guiding Star Baptist Church for a number of years. He was a very loving father and grandfather that enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was retired from the Army as an E-6 and was a Vietnam Veteran. He never met a stranger and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Starling & Reda (Adkins) Tackett, wife Linda (Huckaby) Tackett, brother Chester Tackett, and sister Shelby Jean Buchanan.

He is survived by his son Darren Steven Tackett & wife Amie of Jacksboro; daughter Kimberley Ann Jeffries & husband John of LaFollette; brother Lester Tackett & wife Nanette of Caryville; and grandchildren Kayla Whitney, Robert William, and Matthew Steven Tackett, and Alyssa Lauren and Lindy Johanna Jeffries.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 800 pm on Sunday, December 29th, 2013 in the Martin Wilson Chapel. Funeral service will follow the visitation with Rev. Johnny Rains officiating. Interment with be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, December 30th, 2013 at Woodlawn Cemetery with the Campbell County Honor Guard in charge of graveside services.
