Britton Burrell, age 86 of Lafollette passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. He was a very loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather that enjoyed spending time with his family. He also loved to fish, work in his woodshop, garden or anything to do with the outdoors. Britton was a veteran of WWII and a prisoner of war.
Preceded in death by Wife: Mildred Guy Burrell. Parents: Lloyd and Martha Longmire Burrell. Brother: Charles Burrell.
Survived by Sons and Daughters in Law: Richard and Karen Burrell of Lafollette and Garry and Sally Burrell of Michigan. Daughters: Sue Ulmer and Margaret Ivey of Lafollette. 14 granchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Brother: Terry Burrell of Lafollette. Sisters and Brothers in Law: Clara and George Heatherly of Maryville, Mildred Goins of Knoxville, Joyce and Ralph Ryerson of Michigan and Kathy and Jerry Wattors of Michigan. Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be 8 PM Friday, November 27, 2009 in Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Randal Heatherly officiating. Interment will be 10 AM Saturday in Campbell Memorial Gardens with the Campbell County Honor Guard in charge of graveside service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday night before funeral service.
