Burns Hatmaker, age 79 of Jacksboro passed away Friday, July 3, 2009 at Baptist West Hospital in Knoxville.
Mr. Hatmaker was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, walking, playing cards, cooking and baking. Mr. Hatmaker was also a cook in the Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jeff Hatmaker and Pearl Reed Hatmaker; brothers Troy, Dale and Nuke Hatmaker.
Survivors include his wife Mable Kidwell Hatmaker; son Gary Hatmaker and wife Kathy of Winter Haven, FL; daughters Pat Nunn and husband Saford of Hillsville, VA and Joyce and husband Phil Jolley of LaFollette; brother James Hatmaker and wife Grace of Cosby, TN; sisters Kay and husband LeMarr Troup of LaFollette, Mary Ruth Trent, Vivian Merrick and Joan; grandchildren Cody Hatmaker, Corery Hatmaker, Kimberly Pitcher, Robin Thompson, Joshua Newman, Brittani Penfreld, Amber Jolley, Kayla Jolley, Kristie Lester and Mathew Lester; Several nieces and nephews and a host of other relative and friends.
Memorial Service will be 7 PM Monday, July 6, 2009 in Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Leroy Braden officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 PM before service.
