Carlos Ernest Tackett

Carlos Ernest Tackett, age 73 of Jacksboro, departed this life on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at UT hospital.  He was born on March 8, 1950, to the late Ernest Tackett and Irene Goodman. Carlos was a loving father and grandfather that enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and loved watching sports. He was an honorable Veteran that served his country with two terms in Vietnam, where he received such honors as the National Defense Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Carlos is survived by his son Travis Lee Tackett and Jessica of Rocky Top; mother of his son Sue Tackett Hatmaker; brother Frank Tackett of Jacksboro; sisters Judy Goddard of LaFollette, Jeannie Baird and Ron of Lafollette, and Heather Arnoldt of Kingston; grandchildren Cayden Tackett, Alexa Tackett, and Brylen Tackett; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Cumberland View Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jimmy Ault officiating. Interment to follow funeral service at Cumberland View Cemetery.
