March 30, 1930 — September 1, 2008

Carrie Phillips Gross, age 78 of Jacksboro passed away Monday, September 1, 2008 at U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville. Mrs. Gross was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church. She loved her family, singing for her Lord, gardening, fishing and quilting.

Preceded in death by Parents: James and Martha McKamey Phillips. Her loving companion: Paul Euvaune Gross Sr. Sons: Paul Euvaune Gross, Jr. and James Bennie Gross. Infant Brother: James Phillips Jr. Brothers: Wilmer, Carlos, Kilmer and Elmer Phillips. Sister: Kilsie Cook Henderson.

Survived by Daughters and Sons in Law: Bonnie Gross and Mark Daugherty and Linda Gross and Sergio Del Toro. Grandchildren: Matthew and Nathan Daugherty, Melissa and James Anthony, and David Ray Gross. 4 Great Grandchildren. Brothers and Sisters in Law: Ernest and Elizabeth Phillips, Virgil and Louise Phillips all of Jacksboro. Odis and Elaine Phillips of Lafollette. Sisters: Elise Shown Warman, Geneva and Curtis Shown all of Jacksboro. Frosty Powell Henderson of Lafollette. Oma and Wayne Heatherly of Bon Aqua, TN. Loving nieces, nephews and other family members and special friends.

Funeral Service will be 8 PM Wednesday, September 3, 2008 in Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Virgil Farmer officiating. Family and friends will meet for interment at 11 AM Thursday in Indian Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday night before funeral service.
