Charles Lonnie Turner, age 75, of LaFollette passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at his home. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, Captain of a tug boat for 40 years, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, tinkering on things, and he loved his dog and his family very much.
He was preceded in death by his father Lonnie Turner, mother Lona Spangler Turner, wife Betty Turner, and brothers Harold Turner and Harrison Turner.
He is survived by his companion Stella McNeely of LaFollette, sons Harold Turner, Dennis Turner, and Steve Turner & wife Donna all of LaFollette, brother Gene Turner of LaFollette, sisters Ruby White of LaFollette, Ruth Kitchen of LaFollette, Dot McQueary of Florence, SC, and Necie Martin of Wartburg, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews, special friends Gary Moore, Bill Powell, Robbin Bright, and Bill Brown, as well as a host of other relatives & friends.
Funeral service will be at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2012 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev Sanford Hill & Rev Ronnie Arnold officiating. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Interment will be at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2012 in the Bakers Forge Cemetery. The Campbell County Honor Guard will be in charge of graveside services.
