Charles Edward Ward, age 61 of Elk Valley, TN went home to be with the Lord on April 15, 2010. He worked for Campbell County Road Department for 17 years. He loved his family, gardening and the outdoors. He was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church.

Charles was preceded in death by his Parents: Charlie Ward and Mary Mason Ward. Stepmother: Nora Ward. Daughter: Melissa Ruth Ward. Brothers: Virgil Ward, R.P. Ward, L.M. Ward and Brion Ward.

Survived by Wife of 39 years: Brenda Ward. Sons: Scott and wife Thomasina of Lake City. Chucky and Beverly of Jellico. Daughter: Melinda Vaughn and husband Louie of Elk Valley and Brenda's brother's and sister who he mentored and became a father figure to, Joel Seiber, Raymond Seiber and Gearldean Davis. Grandchildren: Brandon, Dustin, Brittany, T.J., Tiffany, Logan and Alissa and Josh and John Paul Seiber who were like his grandsons. Brothers: Thomas Ward and wife Lorene of Caryville. Clifton Ward and wife Lillian of Jacksboro. Wendell Cross and wife Ruby of Lenoir City and Dillon Ward of Huntsville. Sisters: Maxine McFarland of Dunkirk, IN. Margaret Burress of Lafollette, Ruth Cross and husband Odell of Huntsville, Jennifer Sharp and husband Bobby of Huntsville. Special friends: Earl and Edna Norman of Elk Valley and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.

Funeral Service will be 12 PM Sunday, April 18, 2010 at New Canaan Baptist Church with Rev. Adam Hunley, Rev. Luke Ward and Brother Gilbert Lay officiating. Interment will follow in Seiber Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Saturday night at the church.
