Clara Lucille Douglas

April 16, 1928 — December 13, 2008

Clara Lucille Douglas, 80, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2008. Lucille was born to George and Sinda Ayers Baird on April 16, 1928 in Habersham, Tennessee where she also attended school. Lucille married Jim (JC) Douglas at Lafollette, Tennessee on August 17, 1946 and their loving relationship continued for 62 years until her death. During the first years of their marriage she was a homemaker and loved tending to her garden. Lucille and Jim moved to Omak, WA in 1957 where they lived for 15 years and then moved to Peshastin, WA. In 1995, they moved to Rock Island, WA after her husband, Jim retired.  Lucille was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a best friend. The most closely held treasure in her life was her family. She was a pillar of strength and an angel on earth to all her family and friends. She blessed us all with her compassion and grace, always having a sparkle in her eyes. Lucille known by many as "Lucy" worked as a waitress for over 30 years and retired in 1990. She had a great passion for her career as well as her long lasting friendships. Lucille was a devoted Christian and attended church regularly. She loved to sing along with Christian music. To this day, all the people she met, still remember what a character she was and also always asked "How's Lucy". Thank you to all her friends who loved Lucy. She was truly blessed.

Left to cherish her memory is the love of her life, husband Jim (JC). She is survived by daughter, Wanda Irish and her husband Dennis of Harrison, ID; son, Jim W. Douglas and wife Kathy of East Wenatchee, WA; son Steve Douglas and wife Kim of Leavenworth, WA; and grandsons Justin and Sheldon Douglas also of Leavenworth, WA and nieces, nephews, cousins and those special friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Lynn, parents, George and Sinda Baird and sister Ruby Baird.
The family would like to thank all the caring people over the years that helped Mom and Dad cope with Alzheimer's disease.

Visitation will be Tuesday and Wednesday, December 16 and 17 from 10 AM to 5 PM at Telford's Chapel of the Valley, 711 Grant Road, East Wenatchee, WA.
Funeral Service will be 12 PM Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Stanfield Church of God, 153 Old Stinking Creek Rd., Lafollette, TN with Rev. Delmus Bruce officiating. Interment will follow in Davis Cemetery.
