David Ridenour

Lancing (Formerly of LaFollette)

David Ridenour, age 63 of Lancing, TN, passed away on February 13, 2025. David was a loving and devoted husband and father. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio but grew up in LaFollette, TN. He joined the United States Army in July of 1981 and served until July of 1990. He attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville earning his degree in Education. After a short time living in Virginia, David and his family moved back to Tennessee where he found a job at Commercial Lighting as a warehouse manager and continued to work until his passing. He attended Circle Assembly of God until he and his family moved to Lancing, TN where they attended Highlands Church of the Cumberlands. David enjoyed time outside gardening and landscaping. He also enjoyed being on the water but most of all spending time with his wife and children.
Preceded in death by Father, Henry Earl Ridenour; stepfather, Carl Lee Wilson; Grandfather, Lester C. Sammons; Grandmother, Clara Sparks Sammons; Grandfather, Hugh Ridenour; Grandmother, Nancy Bolton Ridenour.

Survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Monica Moats Ridenour; Mother, Frankie Sammons Wilson of Strawberry Plains; Sons, Hunter Ridenour, Elijah Ridenour, and Landen Ridenour of Lancing, TN; Brothers, Charles Wilson of Strawberry Plains and Lee Wilson of Cleveland, Tennessee; Sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Charles Hutson of LaFollette, TN; and Sister, Elaine Ridenour of Jefferson City, TN; several Nieces and Nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Rose Funeral & Cremation - Mann (6200 Kingston Pike Knoxville, TN 37919) A service will follow at 7:00pm with Pastor John Lawson officiating. A private family graveside service will be held at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
