David Micheal Welch, age 38, of Knoxville TN. passed away March 28, 2012. He was born November 30, 1973. He served in the U.S. Army where he did an active tour of duty in Kosovo. He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. After David finished serving his country, he was honorably discharged as a disabled veteran. He worked at Ametek in Oak Ridge as a Laboratory Technician.
David was very proud of his family history. His favorite hobby was to research his family genealogy where he traveled to many states to do his research. In addition he enjoyed metal detecting. David was a collector of many things including his love of antiques, art and books. David and his wife were regular visitors to the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra.
He was preceded in death by his Grandparents Arlie John & Lorene Welch and Grandfather Charles E. Violet.
He is survived by his Wife of Knoxville. Mother: AnitaWelch of Jacksboro Father and Wife: Doyle & Linda Welch of LaFollette, Grandmother: Wanda Violet Oaks of Jellico, In-Laws: Nikola & Ankica Zlojutro of Crailsheim, Germany, Brother-in-law: Drazan Zlojutro of Crailsheim, Germany, Brother: Mark Welch of Jacksboro, Sister: Kimberly Welch of Knoxville, as well as step-brothers, step-sisters, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
The funeral service will be on Monday, April 2, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. in the Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Bobby Ray Wilson officiating. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. The interment will be on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the Campbell Memorial Gardens with Campbell County Honor Guard in charge of services.
