Delmas Carter, age 65 of Crossville passed away Sunday, October 18, 2009 at the Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville. Delmas was a member of Trinity Chapel Church. He was a master mason in the Masonic Lodge of Caryville and also a order of the Eastern Star. He was an avid Vols fan and loved to fish. He was a choir director in church and loved his family very much.

Preceded in death by Wife: Lorene Carter. Parents: George and Effnora Rutherford Carter. Brother: Gary Carter.

Survived by Daughters and Sons in Law: Cynthia and Michael Douglas and Elisha and Timothy Evans all of Knoxville. Grandchildren: Billy Douglas of Maryville. Christopher Nelson, Savannah and Timothy Evans all of Knoxville. Great Grandchildren: Bryson Douglas of Maryville. Brothers and Sisters in Law: Henry and Phoebe Carter of Kokomo, Indiana and Mickey and Gayle Carter of Jacksboro. Sisters and Brothers in Law: Fontella Lessnau of Beverly Hills, Michigan. Maxine and Benton Gau of Cookeville and Pamela Carter of Crossville. Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be 8 PM Wednesday, October 21, 2009 in Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Ron Ziegler officiating. Interment will be 2 PM Thursday in Bakers Forge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday night before funeral service.
