Don Carlos Daugherty

Don Carlos Daugherty, "Coach D", age 62, of Dunlap went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, December 17, 2008. He was a devoted husband, father, coach and teacher for thirty years and veteran of Vietnam. He was a member of the Dunlap United Methodist Church.

Preceded in death by Father: Carlos Daugherty. Brother in Law: Donald Byrd Chambers. Nephew: Justin Cole Chambers.

Don is survived by his Wife: Brenda Chambers Daugherty. Daughter and Son in Law: Crystal and Jon Hillis. Mother: Sarah Kathleen Vinsant Daugherty. Brothers and Sisters in Law: Lawrence and Kim Olsen Daugherty. Keith and Pam Daugherty. Sister in Law and Husband: Diana and Richard Cox. Niece: Diane Daugherty. Great Nephew: Hayden Cox. And a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be 1 PM Saturday, December 20, 2008 in the Dunlap United Methodist Church chapel with Minister Gerald Casson, Pastor Tony Cates, and Howard Hatcher officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 AM to 1 PM Saturday at the church.

There will be a joint service with his father, Carlos Daugherty at 2 PM Sunday, December 21, 2008 at Mt. Zion Methodist Church in Jacksboro, TN. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 PM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dunlap United Methodist Church parsonage fund or the Sequatchie County Cancer Support Network.
