Dorothy Tackett

Dorothy Tackett, age 72, of LaFollette passed away on Monday, July 14th, 2014 at Cumberland Village Care & Rehab Center. She was a member of West LaFollette Baptist Church. She was a very loving sister that enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents John & Leona (Nelson) Cordell; husband Rev. Earnest Tackett; brothers Rev. Ralph, Kenneth, James, and Evan Cordell; and sisters Lucille Vincent and Jean Cordell.

She is survived by her step-sons Carlos Tackett of LaFollette and Frank Tackett of Jacksboro; step-daughter Judy Martin of LaFollette; sisters Naomi King and Lorene Leach & husband Edward of LaFollette; and sisters-in-law Helen, Margaret, and Barbara Cordell all of LaFollette.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:30 pm on Tuesday, July 15th, 2014 in the Martin Wilson chapel with the funeral service to follow at 7:30 pm with Rev. Hobert McCreary officiating. Interment will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 16th, 2014 at Clinch River Cemetery. The family would like to thank Cumberland Village for their care of Dorothy.
