Douglas Monroe Daugherty

June 2, 1943 — April 28, 2009

Douglas Monroe Daugherty, age 65 of Jacksboro passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at the U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville. He was a very dedicated Christian and deacon at the Old Bearwallow Independent Missionary Baptist Church. He loved gardening and was an avid fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his Parents: Theodore and Janie Mason Daugherty. Brothers: Doyle, Donald, Charles and David. Sister: Mary Medlin.

He is survived by his wonderful wife of 45 years: Lela Daugherty of Jacksboro. Sons and Daughters in Law: Kenny and Michell Daugherty of Lafollette, Jason and Nicole Daugherty of Jacksboro. Daughter and Son in Law: Tonya and Mike Duggins of Bowling Green, KY. 4 grandchildren whom he adored: Alex, Sara Beth, Kayla and Chase. Brothers and Sisters in Law: Lendon and Madge Daugherty of Jacksboro. Curtis Daugherty of Norris, Edmond and Marie Daugherty of Flint, Michigan. Sisters: Dorothy Spradlin of Spotsylvania, Virginia, Betty Blair of Kettering, Ohio, Kathy and David Lambert of Clinton, TN. Sisters in Law: Betty Daugherty of Dalton, GA and Barbara Daugherty of Orlando, FL. Many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Service will be 8 PM Friday, May 1, 2009 in Martin Wilson Chapel with Bro. Bruce Wallace officiating. Interment will be 11 AM Saturday in Indian Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday night before funeral service.
