Doyle M. Welch

Doyle M. Welch, age 74 of Jacksboro, a loving and kind man, departed this life on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at North Knoxville Medical Center. He was born February 29, 1948 in Speedwell to the late Arlie and Lorene (Yoakum) Welch. Doyle was a leap year child that made him 18 ½ years old, which he found great humor in. He retired from Bellsouth after 32 years of service as a technician. Doyle was a United States Army Veteran, who served in the Vietnam War as a medic. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, playing music, and tinkering on things. Doyle loved watching YouTube videos on building projects with his brother Tobby.  He was a member of the Stooksbury Masonic Lodge #602 F&AM and the Scottish Rites of Knoxville.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, David Michael Welch; sisters, Arline McGhee and JoAnn Cunningham.

Doyle is survived by his wife, Linda Welch of Jacksboro; children, Kimberly Welch and Jamie Waller of Nashville, Mark Welch of LaFollette, Carl Brock and wife, Mikki of Knoxville, Melanie Davenport and husband, Phillip of Columbus, Georgia, Korey Brock of Strunk, Kentucky; brother, Tobby Welch and Paula of LaFollette; sister, Alice Crutchfield and husband, Jerry of Jacksboro; grandchildren, Brett, Tyler, Amber, Kortney, Josiah, Noah, Jorden, and Jonah; six great grandchildren and one more on the way; several nieces, nephews, and host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 27, 2022 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM with masonic services to follow at 4:00 PM by Stooksbury Lodge #602 F&AM. Funeral service will follow with Rev. Sampson Ridenour, Rev. Carl Brock, and Bro. Jerry Crutchfield officiating. The family will meet on Monday November 28, 2022 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home at 10:15 AM to go in funeral procession to Woodlawn Cemetery for a 11 AM interment with military honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard.
