Edgar Daugherty

Edgar Daugherty, age 81 of Jacksboro passed away Monday, January 12, 2009 at the St. Mary's Health System of Knoxville. Mr. Daugherty was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church where he was a longtime Sunday school teacher. He was retired from Woodson's Cash Store where he was employed more then 50 years. He enjoyed gardening, UT Football and reading.

Preceded in death by Parents: James R. and Melvina Tackett Daugherty. Brothers: Russell, Roscoe, Everette and Hyrmal Daugherty. Infant Sister and Twin Sister: Edna Daugherty.

Survived by Wife: Margaret Daugherty of Jacksboro. Daughter and Son in Law: Judy and Michael Freeman of Jacksboro. Son: Michael Daugherty of Clinton. Grandchildren: Cody Freeman and Christopher Daugherty. Brother: Marshall Daugherty of Jacksboro. Sister: Zora Lindsay of Jacksboro. Special Sisters in Law: Janice Sweat and Thelma Daugherty.

Funeral Service will be 8 PM Wednesday, January 14, 2009 in Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Danny Wilson and Rev. Donnie Disney officiating. Interment will be 11 AM Thursday in Willoughby Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday night before funeral service.
