Edward Leon Powers

Edward Leon Powers age 87 of Lafollette passed away Sunday, December 26, 2010 at the St. Mary's Medical Center in Campbell Co. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a Veteran of World War 11. Mr. Powers enjoyed gardening, loved to do carpenter and electrical work, and all kinds of odd jobs. His family was his life.

Preceded in death by Parents: Lee and Ollie Powers. Sisters: Joan Webber and Rose Powers.

Survived by Wife: Lucille Powers of Lafollette. Sons and Daughters in Law: Eddie and Nona Powers of Lafollette. Don and Kathy Powers of Lenoir City. Daughter and Son in Law: Linda and Frank Wallace of Jacksboro. Grandchildren: Robbie Powers, Derrick Wallace, Melissa Hatmaker, and Matthew Powers. 3 Great Grandchildren. Brother: Bobby and Marvin Powers of Caryville. Sisters: Peggy Blankenship, Donna Hebert, Louise Sowders, Lynette Voleck, and Jessie Cosner. Several Nieces, Nephews and a host of Relatives and Friends.

Funeral service will be 8 PM Wednesday, December 29 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Wilson officiating. Interment will be 1 PM Thursday in Jacksboro Cemetery with the Campbell Co. Honor Guard in charge of graveside service. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Wednesday at the church before funeral service.
