Eldon K. Newport

Eldon K. Newport, age 83, of Caryville passed away Friday, May 29, 2015. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Caryville, a loving husband of 59 years, member of Caryville Masonic Lodge # 665 and Korean War Veteran. He enjoyed gardening, working on lawnmowers and on anything with his hands.

He was preceded in death by his parents Fieldon & Ida (Cross) Newport; brothers Ervin, Osby and Cosby Newport; sister Aretta Williams; father & mother-in-law Rev. Dan & Mary Daugherty.

He is survived by his wife Geneva Newport of Caryville; sons Danny Newport of Knoxville, Johnny Newport & wife Julia of Houston, TX and Timothy Newport & wife Jessica of Powell; daughters Helen Woodward & husband David of VA and Julie Hatmaker & husband Ronnie of LaFollette; sister Edith Gray of Sandusky, OH 10 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends 6:00-7:45 pm on Monday, June 1, 2015 in Martin Wilson Chapel with Masonic Service at 7:45 pm and funeral service to follow at 8:00 pm with Rev. Randy Lowe, Nephew Shaun Lynch, Rev. David Walker and Rev. Tim Moore officiating. Interment will be 12:00 noon on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 in Campbell Memorial Gardens with Campbell County Honor in charge of graveside service.
