Ella R Parks

Ella Ruby Ayers Parks age 90 of 295 River Road Jacksboro passed away peacefully at home on Monday evening March 14, 2011 in the company of family and friends. Mrs. Parks was a Christian and long term member of Mt Paran Baptist Church in Jacksboro. She was preceded in death by her father John Castor Ayers and mother Lula Baird Ayers; aunt Nora Branam; brothers James N. Ayers and Tillman Howard Ayers; and husband John L. Parks.

Mrs. Parks is survived by her sister, Mildred A. Malicoat, Jacksboro; cousins Betty Fowler Padgett and Loretta Parks of Jacksboro; sisters-in-law Jean Ayers and Pauline Ayers of Jacksboro; stepdaughters Phyllis Boyce and Jeannie Baird, LaFollette; stepsons David L. Parks, DeMotte, Indiana,Jimmy W. Parks, Jacksboro, Dennis E. Parks, Harriman, TN, Donald E. Parks, LaFollette, and Steve Parks, Elyria, Ohio; half-sister Derushia Hicks McGee, Newcomb; half-brother Odell Hicks, Dayton, Ohio.

Special cousins Deborah E. Roseberry, Jackson, Mississippi and Lonnie D. Branam, Jacksboro, special granddaughter Connie Davis, LaFollette; and God son Johnny W. Branam and wife Kay, Foley, Alabama; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Mrs. Parks was a retired beautician and developed many friends over the years through her work. She loved to tend to her vegetables & flower gardens and it gave her great joy to cook and prepare meals for her many visitors.

Funeral 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 17th at Martin-Wilson Chapel, Rev. George Asbury officiating. Interment 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 18th at Mt Paran Baptist Church Cemetery, Jacksboro. Family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 p.m. before service at Martin-Wilson Funeral Home, LaFollette.
