Ella (Gillum) Shepherd

Ella (Gillum) Shepherd, age 96 of LaFollette, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 5th, 1922 in Pineville, Kentucky to the late Tom and Mahala (Howard) Gillum. Ella was a very good Christian woman and was a member of New Life Ministry in Jacksboro, Tennessee, where she was a prayer warrior.  She was saved and baptized at the age of 12. Ella enjoyed praying, cooking, singing, and writing songs. Ella loved her family very much especially her grandchildren and she loved talking about her mother and her siblings.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Winford Shepherd;  daughter-in-law, Margie Lee Shepherd; grandson, Scott Lee Shepherd; brother, Howard Gillum; sisters, Edna (Gillum) Overton and Ethel (Gillum) Hignite.

Ella is survived by her sons, Allen Shepherd and wife Tena of LaFollette, Jimmy Shepherd of LaFollette, Gary Shepherd and wife, Claudene of LaFollette, Dennis Shepherd and wife, Donna of Jacksboro, Winford Pete Shepherd and wife, Brenda of LaFollette; daughters, Starla Myers and husband, Kim, Rita Fannon and husband, Bob both of LaFollette, Shelia Goins and husband, David of Jacksboro, Brenda Wills and husband, Larry of Knoxville; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grand children and host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Ella will be Thursday, November 14, 2019 at New Life Ministry (181 Indian Mound Circle, Jacksboro, Tennessee) from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with her funeral service following at 8:00 PM with her son Rev. Allen Shepherd and her son-in-law Rev. David Goins officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 AM Friday, November 15, 2019 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home to go in funeral procession to Campbell Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 AM interment.
