Elmer Harris Rutherford

Elmer Harris Rutherford, age 72 of Caryville departed this life on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at LaFollette Medical Center. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Red Ash Baptist Church. Elmer was a very loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.

He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Callie (Harrison) Rutherford; brothers Jack Rutherford, and Elbert Henry Rutherford; sisters Susie Rogers, Jerry Rogers, and Juanita Schultz.

He is survived by daughter Virginia Kindred of Jacksboro; brothers Paul Edward "Joe" (Charlene) Rutherford of Philadelphia, and James (Ruby) Rutherford of Caryville, TN; 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a special niece Martha Tackett; sons Jeffrey Cotton of Norris, Michael Cotton of Scott County and Greg Cotton.

Visitation will be 6-8 PM Saturday, July 9, 2016 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home, the service with follow at 8 PM with Rev. Jerry Foust officiating. Friends and family will meet at 10 AM Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home for a 11 AM interment at Harness Cemetery.
