Evelyn Ridenour

Evelyn Ridenour age 76 of Williamsburg formerly of LaFollette, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 19, 2024. She was born April 28, 1947 in LaFollette to the late Homer Lay and Evelyn Smiddy. Evelyn was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She enjoyed shopping, babysitting, cookouts, traveling, and watching the cooking channel. Evelyn loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandbaby.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Reynold Ridenour; granddaughter, Mercedes Young; brothers, Franklin, Chester, Penny, Luther, and Willie Smiddy; sister, Azalee Henry.

Evelyn is survived by her loving daughters, Tammy Young and husband Chuck of Williamsburg, Wendy Ivey and husband, Randall of Williamsburg; grandchildren, Austin and Colby Reynolds and Gavin Young; great grandbaby, Brayleigh Mae; brothers, Charles Smiddy of LaFollette and Paris Smiddy of Texas; special friend, Harold "Clute" Bowling of Williamsburg; several nieces, nephews, and host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home, 305 East Beech Street in LaFollette, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with her funeral to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Bo Freeman and Rev. Sampson Ridenour officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at the funeral home to go in funeral procession to Davis Cemetery for a 11:00 AM interment.
