Floyd Emory Summers

November 30, 1916 — September 21, 2008

Floyd Emory Summers, age 91 of Lafollette passed away Sunday, September 21, 2008 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. Mr. Summers was a member of Fordtown Baptist Church. He worked for 41 plus years for Woodson's Super Markets. He loved fishing and gardening and his family was his life. He was a veteran of World War II.

Preceded in death by Wife: Lula Marie Summers. Parents: Tandy Lee and Elva Lamb Summers. Sister: Opal Tuttle.

Survived by Son and Daughter in Law: James Edward and Mary Ann Summers of Lafollette. Daughters and Sons in Law: Cheryl Sternburg of Knoxville and Jeannie Elaine and Stan Haber of Chattanooga. Grandchildren: David Berens, Carrie Ann Raines, Eric and Whitney Haber and Laurin Sternburg. Great Grandchildren: Caitlyn and Sidney Raines. Brother: Garnett Summers of Lafollette. Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be 8 PM Tuesday, September 23, 2008 in Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. David Hicks and Rev. Tim Dupuy officiating. Interment will be 11 AM Wednesday in Campbell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday night before funeral service.
