Geneva Goad

Geneva Byrd Goad, age 87, of Huntsville, TN passed away Friday June 24 , 2011 at her home. Mrs. Goad a was a member of Capitol Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She loved quilting, cooking, playing horse shoes, playing yahtzee and cheating, her family was her life.

Preceded in death by husband: Carl Goad., Parents: Jerry and Nancy Crabtree Byrd. 2 daughters. 1 granddaughter, 1 grandson and 1 great granddaughter. 3 brothers, 3 sisters, and son in law: Robert Allen.

Survived by: Sons and Daughters in law: Jerry and Sheree Goad, Teddy and Judy Goad all of Huntsville, and Steve and Alane Goad of Pioneer. Daughters and sons in law: Betty and Jim Benson of Moscow, Idaho, Della and Butch Chambers of Pioneer, Anna Allen of Huntsville, Loretta and Kern of Knoxville, Susie and Jim Kerce of Rome, GA, Sherry(Janie) and Paul Baird of Arlington TN, Jackie and Roger Lawson of Amherst, OH, Kathy and Benny Miller of Pioneer and Freeda Goad of Oneida. 31 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren. 2 great great grandchildren. Special caregiver, Samantha Daugherty, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 2 PM Monday June 27, 2011 at Straight Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Massengale and Rev. Jimmy Griffith officiating. Interment will follow in Adkins cemetery in Pioneer. Family will receive friends in Martin Wilson Chapel from 6 until 8 PM on Sunday night June 26.
