George Mcghee

Mr. George McGhee, age 93 of Jacksboro, passed away Thursday morning, January 2, 2025, at his residence. He was born on April 4, 1931, in Campbell County, Tennessee, a son of the late Howard David McGhee and Rhoda McGhee. He was a member of Lake View Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice McGhee; daughter, Melissa McGhee; great grandchild, Conner Lane; daughters-in-law, Debbie McGhee and Sheila McGhee; brothers, Arvel McGhee, Clyde McGhee, Oliver McGhee, Charlie McGhee; and sisters, Mary Byrge, Myrtle Ward, Lizzie McKamey, and Alice McGhee.

He is survived by his five sons, Ronnie Lee McGhee, Rickey George McGhee, Robert Ray McGhee, Ronald Wayne McGhee, and Vernon Wade McGhee; daughters-in-law, Lorene McGhee, Angie McClure, and Eunice McGhee; brother, Marshall McGhee, sisters-in-law, Brenda McGhee and Shirley McGhee; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A graveside service for Mr. McGhee will be at 3:00 PM on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Cumberland View Cemetery with Rev. Roger Stanley officiating.
