Georgia Maureen Shoun

August 23, 1917 — March 2, 2009

Georgia Maureen Shoun, age 91 of Alcoa, TN formerly of Jellico passed away Monday, February 2, 2009 at the Shannondale Health Care in Maryville. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Jellico. Mrs. Shoun was a school teacher for 43 years for Campbell County School System, most was at Jellico Elementary. She was devoted to her family and church.

Preceded in death by Husband: Earl Shoun. Daughter: Effie Jane Davis. Parents: E. L. and Emily Jane Boshears Morton. Brothers: Albert Morton and George Franklin Morton. Sisters: Sarah Buckner, Josie Bell Overbey, Helen Bullock and Wilma Allen.

Survived by Sons and Daughters in Law: Steve and Bobbie Shoun of Alcoa and Wilbur and Nancy Shoun of Maryville. Daughter and Son in Law: Jean Ann and Lynn Teague of Greer, SC. Brother: Robert Morton of LaFollette. Sisters: Novella Wynn of Jacksboro. Delphia Eldridge of LaFollette. Vermon Morton of Lafollette. 9 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be 7 PM Friday, March 6, 2009 in Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Tim Walden officiating. Interment will be 11 AM Saturday in Pond Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Friday before funeral service.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to First Baptist Church in Jellico or Demory Baptist Church in Lafollette.
