Gracie Welden

Gracie Lillie Mae Welden age 96 of LaFollette passed away Sunday, December 13, 2009 at the St. Mary's Health and Rehab. She was of the Holiness Faith. Mrs. Welden loved going to church and loved her family very much. She enjoyed sewing, yard selling, looking for ginseng, the mountains, and fishing.

Preceded in death by Husband: Elmer Welden. Sons: Thurman and Steven Welden. Daughters: Bertha Guy, Irene Welden. Parents: Latney and Hannah Bailey Shoupe.  3 Sisters. 4 Brothers.

Survived by Son: James Welden of Knoxville. Daughters: Aldy Taylor of LaFollette, Mildred Murray of LaFollette, Linda Shelton of LaFollette, Bobbie Sue Dodds of FL., Barbara Brandenburg of LaFollette, Hannah Green of Jacksboro, and Joyce Kennedy of LaFollette. A host of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great Great Grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 8 PM Wednesday, December 16 in Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Lonnie Welden, Rev. Ray Woods, and Rev. James "Buck" Taylor officiating. Interment will be 11 AM Thursday in Peabody Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Wednesday night before funeral service.
