Grover Hudean Cox, age 74 of Speedwell passed away Saturday, February 27, 2010 at his home. He attended Elm Grove Baptist Church. He was a very loving husband of 50 years, a loving father and grandfather that loved his family very much. Mr. Cox enjoyed fishing, hunting or anything to do with the outdoors. He founded Tall Tales Hunting Club, a club to promote quality family time, where he has been acting president since 1987. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Preceded in death by Parents: Kelly Hudean and Gaither Howard Cox. Grandson: Edward Elam Artz III. Sister: Margaret Greenfield and Nanette Jefferson.
Survived by Wife: Shirley Irene Halley Cox. Daughters and sons in law: Deana and Ed Artz of Tipp City, Ohio and Belinda and Brian Dillon of Glasgow, KY. Brother and sister in law: JW and Joann Cox of Knoxville. Sisters and brothers in law: Irma and Jimmy Shackleford ,Shirley Ann and Bill Weymouth, Jean and Hayes Densmore, Elizabeth Wayne Hounshell and Charlene Parsons all of VA. Grandchildren: Bethany Paige Artz, Kelly Hudean Asa Dillon, Brooke Denea Artz, Logan Jacob Dillon and Dallas Jessie Ann Dillon. A Host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be 7 PM Tuesday March 2, 2010 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Landon Lane officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 PM before funeral service. The Campbell Co. Honor Guard will be in charge of services at the funeral home.
Martin Wilson Funeral Home of LaFollette is in charge of arrangements.
