Hazel Oretha (Orick) Phillips

Hazel Oretha (Orick) Phillips, age 85 of Caryville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 29th, 2017 at the LaFollette Health and Rehab Center. She was born February 6th, 1932 in LaFollette to the late Samuel Harrison and Nanny Mae Comer Orick. Hazel was a member of Bruce Gap Holiness Church, where she loved going and worshipping. She enjoyed flowers, owls, chickens, and spending time with her family, especially her great grandson, Preston.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers, Bob Orick, Sam Orick, Bill Orick, and Roosevelt Orick; sisters, Geneva McNeely and Agnes Ford; son in law, Ed Boles.

Hazel is survived by loving husband of 37 years, John Phillips of Caryville; sons, Edward Orick and wife, Mary of Clinton, Bob "Butch" Daugherty and wife, Nadine of Beavercreek, Ohio; step children, Patricia Albright and husband, Sid of Lake City, Marvin Phillips of LaFollette, Sara Boles of Knoxville, Carolyn Rolow and husband, James of Clinton, Elmer Phillips of Caryville, Linda Ausmus and husband, Bob; special granddaughter and caregiver, Misty Kessler and husband, Nathan of Jacksboro; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 31st, 2017 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7;00 PM. Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 7:00 PM with Rev. Larry Sharp officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12:15 PM on Wednesday, November 1st, 2017 at the funeral home to go in funeral procession to Bakers Forge Cemetery for 1:00 PM interment.
