Hillard Henderson Smith

Hillard Henderson Smith, Jr., age 75, of LaFollette passed away on Wednesday, February 5th, 2014 at his home. He was a member of the Charity Worship Center. He was a very loving father that enjoyed going to church, camping, fishing, ginsenging, 4-wheeling, or anything to do with the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents Hillard Henderson & Bertha (Lay) Smith, brother Carl Smith, sister Ann Tipton, and brother-in-law Charlie Patrick.

He is survived by his friend Carolyn Disney of Jacksboro; sons Wayne Smith & wife Denise of LaFollette and Hillard Scott Smith of Jacksboro; daughter Joy Terry & husband Jim of Clinton; sisters Laveda Patrick of Ohio, Mary Ruth Rutherford & husband John of LaFollette, Sue Baird of LaFollette, and Jean Kaylor & husband Jim of Ohio; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; and special friend Opal Stephens.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 - 12:00 noon on Friday, February 7th, 2014 at the Charity Worship Center. Funeral service will follow the visitation with Rev. Harry James officiating. Interment with follow the service at the Boshears-Goins Cemetery with the Campbell County Honor Guard in charge of graveside services. Pallbearers will be Gary Rutherford, Brian Goins, Billy Smith, John Lowe, Richie Jones, and Wendell Stephens.
