Imogene Hicks

Imogene "Jean" Hicks, age 58 of Caryville went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at the St. Mary's Hospital in Knoxville. Imogene was a member of Stanfield Church of God. She was a loving wife for over 40 years, a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She loved going to church when she was able. She enjoyed spending time with her family and watching Tennessee football.

Preceded in death by Parents: Jess and Ofa Riseden Ward. Brothers: Jay and Robert Ward. Sisters: Bernice Ellison, Birdie Silcox and Leatta Chick.

Survived by Husband: Carl Hicks. Daughters and Sons in Law: Tresa Hicks of Lake City. Carla and Danny Walp of Caryville and Tanya and Steve Croley of Lafollette. Grandchildren: Jordan Lloyd, Brittany Adkins, Mycah Douglas, Drew and Will Croley and Carly Walp. Brother and Sister in Law: Ancil and Patsy Ward of Jacksboro. Sister: Easter Miller of Jacksboro. Special Nieces: Norma Gregory of Cleveland, TN and Darlene Lane of Caryville. Best friend and prayer partner: Gracie Reynolds of Pioneer, TN. Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be 8 PM Friday, August 28, 2009 at Stanfield Church of God with Rev. Delmus Bruce officiating. Interment will be 12 PM Saturday in Powell Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday before funeral service.
