Irene Longmire

Irene Longmire, age 81 of Lafollette passed away Sunday, November 7, 2010 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. She was a member of Indiana Avenue Baptist Church. She loved helping others, drove for the cancer society and delivered for meals on wheels. She loved her family and friends and they were her life.

Preceded in death by Husband: Charles L. Longmire. Parents: Tommy "Ty" and Martha Douglas. Adoptive Parents: Elbert and Lillie Richards. Brothers: Millard, Albert and General Red Douglas. Sisters: Ruthy Sweeney, Hannah Blankenship and Sara Freels.

Survived by Sons and Daughters in Law: Ronald and Christy Longmire and Carl and Barbara Richards all of Lafollette. Daughter: Charlene Longmire and Fiancé: Eddie Green of Lafollette. 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Sisters: Anna Mae Lay and Hazel Douglas of Elk Valley. Very special friend: Millard Shepherd. Best Friend: Anna Morton. Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be 8 PM Monday, November 8, 2010 in Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Ray Graham officiating. Interment will be 2 PM Tuesday in Powell Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday night before funeral service.
