Irene Scarborough

Irene Scarborough, age 81 of LaFollette, went home to be with the Lord on November 5, 2026, at Turkey Creek Medical Center. She was born on November 30, 1944, to the late John Powell and Verna (Orender) Powell. Irene was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She also loved doing arts and crafts, gardening, her monthly girl’s night out, and her yearly girl’s trip to Hilton Head.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her granddaughter Leslie Carroll; grandson Travis Hill; brothers John Powell, Warren Powell, and Billy Powell; sisters Betty Malicoat, Cleo McGlore; Lillian Davis, and her twin sister Lorene White.

Irene leaves behind to carry on her memory, her beloved husband Jim Scarborough of LaFollette; daughter Lisa Humphrey and husband Steve of LaFollette; grandchildren Jenny and Mason Humphrey; great grandchildren Corbin, Bailey, Andrew, Ben, and Carter; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family with receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at Hillcrest Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Lynn Ray officiating.

The family has entrusted the care of Irene Scarborough to Martin Wilson Funeral Home “Where Families Matter Most.”
