James Harrison Allen

James Harrison Allen Sr., age 79 of Lafollette passed away Sunday, October 3, 2010 at his home after a long illness. He served during the Korean War for four years in the U.S. Air Force. He was the owner and operator of McCullah Brothers Trucking and Coal Company and Allen and Allen Construction Company. He was of the Holiness Faith and an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. He loved his family very much especially his granddaughter Alesha Jo Allen.

Preceded in death by Infant Daughter: Elizabeth Elaine Allen. Parents: Millard Lewis and Essie Marshall Allen. Sister: Garneda Allen Anderson. Brothers: Glen J. Allen and Charles E. Allen. Mother and Father in Law: Rev. Loyd and Ella McCullah.

Survived by Wife of 61 years: Deloris McCullah Allen of Lafollette. Son and Daughter in Law: James Harrison Allen Jr. and Angie Stooksbury Allen of Jacksboro. Daughter and Son in Law: Peggy Jo and Lewis Brown of Lafollette. Granddaughter: Alesha Jo Allen of Jacksboro. Sisters: Ruby L. Brunty and husband Hubert Brunty of Lafollette, Lenore Allen McCullah of Pioneer, Azalee Allen of Memphis. Sister in Law: Effie Allen of Oneida. Brother: John E. Allen and wife Nancy Allen of Knoxville. Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be 8 PM Thursday, October 7, 2010 in Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Jerome McCullah and Rev. Ronald Bruce officiating. Interment will be 11 AM Friday in Woodlawn Cemetery with the Campbell County Honor Guard in charge of graveside service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday night before service.

Pallbearers: Barry Stratton, Bill Wilson, Derek McCullah, John David Rogers, Mark A. Wells, and Steve Stratton. Honorary Pallbearers: George A. McCullah, Bill McCullah, Earl McCullah, and Dewayne England.
