James "Jaybird" Franklin Campbell, age 91 of LaFollette, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at LaFollette Nursing Home. His Faith was holiness, Ivey dell Church of God. He was born on December 18, 1923 in LaFollette. He worked many years in the coal mines. He became friend with everyone. Everybody knows Jaybird Campbell. He was a loving father that loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Oneda Campbell; 3 infant children, 3 great grandchildren; parents Sherman and Flossie Campbell, 2 brothers Ernie and Sherman Jr. Campbell; 3 sisters Margaret Richardson, Lucille McDonald, and Mary Katherine Evans.
He is survived by sons Jimmy and wife Patsy Campbell, Elmer and wife Janet Campbell, Bobby and wife Tammy Campbell, all of LaFollette; daughters Anna Lou Branam of Jacksboro, Shirley & Carl Walker of LaFollette, Wanda Campbell of Jacksboro, and Linda & Ronnie Partin of Jacksboro; special friend Jimmy Elkins of Jacksboro; sister Anna Wells of Jacksboro; 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends and relatives.
The family will receive friends 6-8 pm on Friday, November 20, 2015 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 8 pm with Rev. Ray Woods officiating. The interment will be at 11 am Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Baker's Forge Cemetery.
