James Collinsworth

James H. (Jim) Collinsworth, age 70 of Lafollette, formerly of Richmond, IN, passed away April 26, 2009 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. Jim was born March 12, 1939 in Chattsworth, GA, the son of the late James Frank and Cordelia (Shelby) Collinsworth. He was a ten-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, stationed at Norfolk, VA, Mayport, FL and The Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, FL. He was an engineer with the Penn-Central Railroad out of Richmond, IN. He graduated from the Indiana Business College with a Business Degree and later became the manager of the college. He was also a Counselor for the C.E.T.A. Program for the State of Indiana.

On June 15, 1956, in Lafollette, TN, Jim married his wife of 53 years, Barbara Ann (Edwards) Collinsworth and to this union two daughters were born, Angie (Tom) Berry of Logansport, IN and Sheila (Mark) Pusey of West Lafayette, IN. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Tasha (Scott) Halterman, Travis (Lindsay) Berry, Wesley (Jennifer) Pusey, Noah (Kendra) Pusey and 3 great grandchildren; also surviving are 1 brother, Frank Jr. (Geneva) Collinsworth and four sisters, Juanita Payne, Georgia (Stanley) Tye, Jean (Elmer) Vaughn and Jessie (Joseph) Yao, and very devoted sister in law and brother in law: Weazy and Dee Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William and Bobby Collinsworth and three sisters, Robin Haley, Novella Ford and Thelma Collinsworth.

The family will receive friends from 10 AM to 12 Noon on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 in Martin Wilson Chapel. Graveside and Interment, with full military honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard will follow in Powell Valley Cemetery and Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mark Partin officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund, 580 S. Indiana Ave., Lafollette, TN. 37766
