James Robert Parton

James Robert Parton, age 60, of LaFollette passed away Monday, September 30th, 2013 at Physicians Regional Medical Center. He was a very loving husband and father that loved his family and his dog Diamond dearly. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam Era and enjoyed going to the mountains, riding his red Jeep "The Mugg", and working on & shooting guns. He prided himself by improving his education and encouraged others to do the same. He was a dedicated employee at Honeywell for over 20 years where he was able to travel all over the world.

He was preceded in death by his parents Oscar Thomas & Nettie Mae Parton and sister Katricia Parton.

He is survived by his wife Sherry Parton of LaFollette, son Jon Parton of Smyrna, TN; daughter Christy Weigant & husband Tony of Lascassas, TN; step-son Mikie Patterson of TN; and brothers Ronnie Parton of Sevierville and Clyde Diehl of LaFollette.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 4th, 2013 from 6:00 - 7:00 pm at Martin Wilson Funeral Home. Memorial service will follow the visitation at 7:00 pm with Rev. Junior Dilbeck and Rev. Earl Powers officiating.
