James Michael Stooksbury

James Michael Stooksbury, age 75, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 24, 2026. He was a loving dad with a heart of gold. He found joy in simple everyday life. He loved spending time with his family and fishing at the lake with his friends. He was loved by so many and he will be very missed.

James is preceded in death by his parents, James and Gertrude Miller Stooksbury; sister, Jane Vincent; brothers-in-law, Doyle Vincent and Jim Shetterly.

He is survived by his daughters, Missy Spradlin and husband Randy of Jacksboro, and Ashley Housewright and husband Billy of Knoxville; brothers, David McCulley “Peggy” of Jacksboro, Danny McCulley “Sue” of LaFollette, and Johnny Stooksbury “Jill” of Jacksboro; sisters, Judy Hatfield of Ohio, Vicky Shetterly of Jacksboro, and Angie Wright “Jeff” of Jacksboro; grandchildren, Madison Spradlin and MacKenzie Housewright, and many other relatives and friends.

The family has entrusted the care of James Michael Stooksbury to Martin Wilson Funeral Home "Where Families Matter Most".
